La Crosse Technology WS-7014CH-IT Wireless Weather StationReviewsLacrosse tec has a great product this is second one for me easy to set works in seconds .... New alkaline batteries, main unit operated and read from remote sensor for about 5 days, then noticed the display was 'garbled', not all segments of the led images would lite up for any of the features, date/time/temp/forecast. Removed batteries for 1 hours and re-installed new (different) batteries.. no change. No response from mfr for 72 hours, so I am returning for refund via Amazon since I've only had the unit for a little over one week. I'm not up to dealing with something that has issues like this right out of the box. Obviously you can look out the window and see whats going on outside. Yet with our new wireless weather station we are able to verify the temperature inside and out. It tells the Humidity and best of all the weather forecast will indicate the trends of the weather approaching. Information point, does not work with older LaCrosse outdoor units but works with its (included) own. Working with older units is handy if you have already deployed older units and just want to piggy-back another indoor unit on them. The time & Weather station is very accurate and sleek looking. Would recommend it to a friend. Average Rating:![]() |

Oregon Scientific RMR382-B Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Atomic Clock, BlackReviewsI read all the instructions, and STILL can't get the outdoor sensor to work, no matter what channel I set both of them on. Don't waste your $10. Internal / external temperature provide the needed information. There is a slight difference between the two temperatures (external sensor 0.8 degree higher). The external sensor range is limited when going thru an external wall. When placed within 1foot of the external wall I had no problem placing the display anywhere in the adjacent room. However when the sensor was 9 foot away (next fence post) the display would loose contact when the window blinds are dropped or if the display was not lined up with sensor thru the window. I couldnt believe the cheap price. I think shipping was more than the unit. Keeps perfect temperature and the atomic clock is so cool. I have it next to bed so I always know the temp in the room, outside, and I know what time it is. Great product. At $10 (the price on Amazon June 2010) this is well worth the price. I purchased this to replace an older Oregon Scientific indoor/outdoor unit that had operated for about eight years and then the receiver unit stopped receiving from the remotes. The previous unit was about $30 without the clock feature. Complaints about the freeze alarm are easily solved by changing channel. If the unit works for two or three years, I will be happy at this price. One negative is the location of the alarm button on the front. I tend to depress it when clearing the high/low memory and the alarm is set unintentionally. Another negative that is not critical for most people is the inability to use the older Oregon Scientific remotes with the new receiver. But for $20 you can get two complete units so you have two remotes and a spare receiver. It's on sale because it isn't very good and it's not accurate (compared to more expensive units), but for me that's OK because it's not that serious. For the price and what it does, it's hard to complain. So it's off 2 or 3 degrees........I just want a general idea of what to expect when I go outside - - more than likely it's going to be hot in the summer. So what if it's off. It's $11.00 Where else can you find a wireless outdoor thermometer at this price? I couldn't even find a sensor at this price. For me it works and I like it. Average Rating:![]() |

CLOCK, RMR 382A/BLRBK IN/OUT THERMO |

La Crosse Technology WS-8117U-IT-AL Atomic Wall Clock with Indoor/Outdoor TemperatureReviewsThe clock keeps changing to a different time zone and the purchase disappeared from my record so I could not return it on Amazon. I am stuck with a clock that does not work properly. Failing grades for both La Crosse and Amazon. I am very dissapointed. The clock is good, the radio transmitter works and does adjust the time for you. The outdoor temperature sensor works as advertised, and constantly updates every few seconds or so-and seems accurate. The one thing I don't like is that the moon phase seems to be "backwards" as in if the picture is all black, that actually indicates a full moon, and when its all "white" it's actually a new moon. Strange but something to get used to I guess. I don't know how to adjust the moon phase to reverse it. I received this clock a couple of days after I ordered it. I was so easy to install. I love it! I guess I should've double-checked the dimensions but this is a big clock. We have it standing on a console table in the living room and the beauty of the big display is that you can see the time from across the room. I like the external temperature transmittor - it took about 30 mins to get the temperature stabilized as we kept checking it against a mercury thermometer and then eventually they were both the same - obviously this one is more accurate due to digital readout. Same with the indoor temperature, it took about 30 mins to settle down and stabilize. I just wish the clock displayed the seconds as well. Other than that, and the fact that it is a little bigger than I realized, it's a good, accurate clock and indoor/outdoor thermometer. I just got this clock and it works like a charm. The metal accents make my living room look delightful. I would give this 999 stars if I could. Average Rating:![]() |

When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented brushed aluminum finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science... |

Taylor Weather Station With Atomic ClockReviewsSeller took way to long to ship. The wireless outdoor thermometer only transmits less than 10 feet, the bases display is very dim and hard to read, and the backlight button is so stiff you have to hold the unit with one hand and then push the button. This is just another poorly designed, Chinese piece of junk. Average Rating:![]() |

Oregon Scientific RAR381-BK Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Digital Clock, BlackReviewsNice concept, very poor execution. Good: Large easy to read digits Bad: remote sensor off by 8-12 degrees, for some reason after the clock is set my device loses contact with the remote sensor, requiring reset, so you can either use the clock function or the inaccurate remote temperature sensor. We bought this for a cabin in the snow. After reading the directions multiple times, we could not turn off the "freeze alert" alarm that would then beep at all hours of the night. The alarm clock is hard to use and it would go off at weird times, too. We have replaced this item with a wind & weather item that has NO ALARMS! I was looking for a replacment indoor/outdoor to fit in the spot my old one was in. This had the right dimension, but I didn't read closely enough, turns out it doesn't wall mount. My fault there. Anyway, I set it up on a dresser and the 1st thing I notice is that the LCD is so faint it's almost illegible. You have to pick it up and look at it just right to see the display at all. Later that night, around 2AM, I get woken up to a beeping sound. Look all around, and finally realize it's coming from the unit. I dig out the manual, and realize I hadn't shut off the low-temp alarm. Did that and went back to sleep, only to be woken up again an hour or so later. Tried turning it off again, but it keeps going off. Next I thought I'd outsmart it. I set the low temp to 0 degrees (it was only in the 20s), and that worked that night. Next night it starts going off again, even though it's a good 30 degrees above where I set it. The long and short of it is the low-temp alarm doesn't work correctly, and can't be shut off (no matter what the manual says). I've retried it several times over the last few weeks, and it keeps screwing up. I finally just pulled the batteries and it's going in the trash tomorrow. Between the alarm and the bad display, this was a total waste of money. I'd never bought anything by Oregon Sci. before, and don't plan to again. When it's back in stock I'll get the Honeywell, even though it's a bit larger than I wanted. We had some initial difficulty getting the sensor unit to talk to the main unit but eventually they connected. In the end we hung the sensor unit from the eave in a small wicker bird house pointing through a deck slider to the main unit about 10 feet away inside. A lithium battery was necessary below 40 deg F. Now it is working fine, with the lowest temperature so far being 18 deg F. We are pleased with it after two months of use. I ordered this because it had all the features I needed at the right price. I received the merchandise quickly and installed the batteries. The main unit picked up the sensor just fine - UNTIL - if you set the clock or date, the signal is lost!! I repeated this experiment 3 times - at distances of 1", 10", and 10' - EVERY time the unit lost the sensors signal. The seller took care of me, but I do NOT recommend this product to anyone unless you like to buy Junk. Average Rating:![]() |

Oregon Scientific John Deere Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Remote SensorReviewsI had purchased other such units for which the batteries lasted one or two months. A member of our family is and electrical engineer and suggested the Oregon Scientific Unit as one for which the batteries would last and last. I have had this unit for about six months and have had no battery issues as of yet. It works well and and is very accurate in that it is always just a degree on either side of the current temperature given one [...]. Sometimes it is spot on! We are very happy with this unit. If it fails in any respect, I will return to add that information to this review. Convenient thermometer and remote are easily set up for viewing outdoor temperature while you're enjoying the indoor temperature also displayed with the current time. Oregon Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer is very reliable and accurate. The remote sensor is posted one floor below the thermometer on the same side of the house. Battery life is good. The only shortcoming is that the readout is too small which makes it hard to see from across the room or in low light. Average Rating:![]() |
