La Crosse Technology WS-9611U-IT Wireless Sun/Moon Forecast Station with Oscar OutlookReviewsI bought 2 of these and gave one to my nephew--he didn't want to put his jacket on when it was cold outside. He loves checking Oscar's outfit and it gives us something to chat about on the phone. We have not had any problems with any of the units and I have bought this for a friend who cannot get caught without an umbrella! Love it and would buy it again. Does a good job! The lil ones love the lil guy & changes of the clothes! I bought this as a gift and really like the idea of it. At first the temperature was pretty accurate but after 6 months the temperature is unreliable. Works very well after set-up according to manufacturer's instruction as per enclosed booklet. There is a slight difference between the outside temperature and the actual reading of a calibrated thermometer but of no consequence. Overall it is a great buy for anyone interested in many phases of the weather. I am completely satisfied with this unit. Lots of information, sun rise, sun set, phase of the moon, highs and lows. A really nice machine. Average Rating:![]() |

La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WS-9077TWC Wireless Weather Forecast StationReviewsExcellent temperature measurement. No need to calibrate time or temperature. Should better explain that when you reposition the trasmitting unti, you need to remove the batteries from both and start them both up again as you would the first time it was taken out of the box. The La Cross Technology Weather Channel WS-9077twc Wireless Forcase Station is wonderful. Not only does it tell us the indoor and outdoor temperatures, but also shows if it is going to rain or be sunny. We are truly enjoying it, plus is it is so very useful in a Sun Belt State. This little unit is modestly priced, but packs a lot of features useful to those interested in the weather. Both the base unit and the included outdoor sending unit are well-constructed. The range for the outdoor sending unit is excellent, much better than the weather station I had before. The unit picked up and, so far, has retained a strong connection to the atomic clock, something my old unit could not do though placed in exactly the same location uin the kitchen. Set up is easy if you follow the instructions. I have only two quibbles. Both the unit and display are smaller than I would like; but this might be a positive for you if you plan to have the unit sitting on a smaller desk or table. Second, so far the "forecaster" may not be as accurate as the one in my last unit. I am thinking that my old unit had an altitude "offset" feature. I don't think this one does. Price and shipping speed are excellent. I ordered this weather station. I got it up and running with it's remote sensor. Not a big deal. The temps on the base station and the receiver that came with the unit were very close...and it was easy to PROGRAM. Here's the RUB...the Amazon Site has an ERROR. If you want a REMOTE SENSOR TO WORK WITH THIS ONE...do NOT TRUST AMAZON. You need to TX29U-IT Sensor. LaCrosse says that this is the NUMBER ONE COMPLAINT with this unit...that Amazon has them LINKED. I am trying to get Amazon to return the incorrect sensor and replace it with the correct one. I doubt that will be a problem. However, for folks in the future to AVOID THIS HASSLE...you need to do some homework. Go to the LaCrosse Technology Website and do a SEARCH for the base or weather station that you want. When you find it, you will find in the SPECS the correct Remote Sensor. Hope this helps someoneelse avoid my issues and the hassle. This is the second unit I've had. Each one has lasted about 15 months and then the outdoor temp is no longer read. Replaced batteries, reset as instructed and still no out door reading. Same thing both times. Done with this product. La Crosse Technology La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WS-9625TWC-IT Wireless Forecast Station with Oscar OutlookReviewsThe weather station is great. It is very accurate and just interesting to use. Only two complaints keep this from being a 5-star review. First, there was no mention in the info that the sensor was included, plus the list of items "also purchased" with this listed the sensor. I ordered it separately, and now have a spare, as the weather station did include the sensor. The second issue is that the range is nowhere near what is advertised, at least not for me. I have the sensor about 8 ft from the outside wall, but can only get a signal within about 30 ft. inside the house. Apparently the walls and floor attenuates the signal. For several years I have had an indoor weather predictor that I love so I thought it would be fun to get this for my son so he could have one too! I was so disappointed that it didn't work! Even though it was snowing outside, the boy on this device was wearing a bathing suit and the weather device said it was in the 70s!! I tried moving this everywhere in the house -- near windows, doors, etc. but it was always at least 30 degrees off. I was really disappointed and it was one of the very few items I have ever returned on this site. Amazon.com was very good about giving me a refund right away so I was happy about that. A good product showing both indoor and outdoor conditions. Wish the data screen was larger. I found this product very easy to set up and install. The temperature and humidity readings have been very accurate both indoors and outside. This unit replaced an older (and less capable) La Crosse model. Its additional features are very useful and make "looking ahead" much easier and with better accuracy. SUPER UNIT !! Average Rating:![]() |

Oregon Scientific BAR388HGA Wireless Weather Station with Temperature/Humidity Display and Self-Setting Atomic Clock, BlackReviewsWorked fine for a year or so, not very accurate, but worked. It has recently stopped picking up the signal from the sensor. Very annoying that Oregon Scientific has such poor customer support. It's almost impossible to get help. Not sure other manufacturers are any better, but I wouldn't buy this again. This was a very nice choise, was a present to my son and still every day he looks and tanks me saying that it works very well. Works well and is easy to set up. But don't drop it. I did and the screen cracked so this is the second one I ordered! I searched high and low for a middle of the road weather station, one that was not to expensive but yet not to cheap. I was looking for indoor and outdoor temps with outdoor humidity and so the fact that this unit provides indoor humidity as well was a bonus. Set up was pretty easy as well. I have tried the outdoor sensor in two different locations and have had no problem with it. I have been using this weatherstation for about a month now and am happy with everything it does. The features I find the most valuable are the large size of the temperature and humidty numbers, the accuracy of all the displayed information, and forecasts. On the overall It is better than I expected and certainly priced right. The only negative I can think of is the fact that it can't be mounted on the wall but I was aware of that when I bought it. Oregon Scientific RM313PNA Self-Setting Projection Alarm Clock with Indoor Thermometer, BlueReviewsI was tired of craning my neck in bed to see the time and purchased the Oregon Scientific self-setting clock for the projection feature. I was so pleased with its performance I immediately purchased another clock as a replacement in my office. I have subsequently purchased six more clocks, which I gave as gifts. I heartily recommend this wonderful product. John C. Hughes Las Vegas, NV This clock is okay for the price, but the model we received doesn't have a working backlight on the front display. I tried contacting the company through the email address on their website, but it came back as undeliverable. For me, it's not worth the trouble to try to send back to Amazon to exchange for another one, and I'm just using it for the time projection, so I'm using it as-is. Based on other reviews I've read, though, it's not uncommon to get a defective unit, so keep that in mind. I been using this alarm clock for 2 years now and I have no complaints about it. Doesn't go out of time, it synchronizes itself. It projects the time in big red numbers in the ceiling so when I wake up in the middle of the night all I have to do is look up and I know the time. The alarm is annoying enough to wake me up (that's a good thing) and the snooze button gives me 8 more minutes of sleep, lol. Also it tells the temperature. Really good alarm clock! This clock was given to me as a gift about 5 1/2 years ago. It has worked just fine all that time until about 6 months ago when the LED lights for the projection apparatus started going out...we have to guess at the minutes now, and the hour is also starting to go. For the money, however, it worked well for 5 years. I ordered this only for the projection clock. It works exactly as described. I would absolutely purchase again. Average Rating:![]() |

Housed in high-tech blue plastic, this alarm clock is far more sophisticated than its cute appearance may lead one to believe. Whether you check on the time by consulting the clock's LCD screen or by looking at a large red-light projection of the time beamed onto a wall or ceiling, you'll know it's accurate... |

Oregon Scientific RMR382A-BK Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Self-Setting Atomic Clock, BlackReviewsOnce it works, this is quite an attractive and convenient thermometer and it seems to give an accurate outdoor reading. That's on the plus side. On the negative side are these: 1) The atomic clock -- do we really need that? -- has never worked, at least not on mine. It picks up a signal, but not the right time. 2) The temperature alarm is a great idea maybe if you're a citrus grower and want to know when the temperature dips below freezing, but a stupid idea for the rest of us. Good luck with figuring out how to deactivate it. (Other reviewers have sufficiently chronicled their travails with this one.) 3) The instruction booklet specifies the use of UM03 and UM04 batteries. Don't be an idiot and chase all over town trying to find batteries with that name; you won't find them. Just use standard AA and AAA alkaline or lithium batteries. 4) The remote sensor won't give an accurate temperature if it is attached to the house, so you are challenged with finding a location away from the house that will be sheltered from the sun and rain as well as in line with the receiver. 5) Setting up the device requires a lot of resetting to make it work. Where are those reset buttons? They are conveniently located pinholes inside the battery cases. Inspired design! 6) Also, the time zone selector is located inside the unit's battery case, just so you will go nuts trying to find it. Even if reliably functioning, this is not a well-designed product and is way too complicated for most people's use. Setting it up is and learning how to use it is frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. The instructions require what seems like hours of study. Buyers should beware that this is anything but a put-the-batteries-in-and-it-goes product. Oregon Scientific really needs to work on this one. It took me awhile to get the positioning right on the outdoor transmitter, I had to keep moving it and resetting it until I just about gave up and THEN it started working. It was cheap and now works fine but it would've been a hassle to send back had it not decided to work. This works well and the clock picks up the signal quickly. The only negative is it can't be hung on the wall. I purchased this RM382A to replace an earlier model Oregon remote thermometer that had failed after 5+ years. This RM382A was a good device, while it lasted. It operated flawlessly for 10 months. Now the remote sensor does not register. The sensor, with a new lithium AA blinks the indicator LED, but the display will not register an outside temperature. This is true even when the sensor is within 5' of the RM382A. The sensor, while outside, was under roof, and out of direct weather. I have no way of telling if the sensor failed, or the main unit failed. I'm highly disappointed with Oregon. This clock is good. But it was a little difficult to get the right time and temperature. Average Rating:![]() |

La Crosse Technology WS-8300U Wireless Weather Station with Digital TimeReviewsThe numbers in the display didn't all work correctly, so the item was returned for a full refund. I purchased Weathertech model FX5000, which has more features and a larger display. It works great. Just received and really enjoy the larger display. Nice to see at a glance what it says. Easy to set up and started working right away. Only drawback is the Min/Max function button is on the back of the unit. That is okay if you set it on a table or desk, but I have mine hanging on the wall, so that makes it not so handy. I would still recommend it! This will be a really short review as the unit stopped working only after 2 days. I liked it for that little while but wish it would last a bit more. It does have a nice uncluttered screen and a modern stainless steel look. This is going back to Amazon. I bought this thermometer because it had a large display and modern styling. Both of these are what I got. My complaint is that the accuracy of this thermometer around freezing is not very good. My kids have a couple weather stations I got them for last christmas and when they say 32 it is freezing out. Mine will say almost 35 even though it has clearly dipped below freezing. So if you just want a general idea of temperature with a nice large display, this is the one for you. Otherwise I would seek something more accurate. Average Rating:![]() |

Taylor Weather Station With Atomic ClockReviewsSeller took way to long to ship. The wireless outdoor thermometer only transmits less than 10 feet, the bases display is very dim and hard to read, and the backlight button is so stiff you have to hold the unit with one hand and then push the button. This is just another poorly designed, Chinese piece of junk. Average Rating:![]() |

Elenco Electronics Discovery Planet Weather StationReviewsWe were disappointed with this product. Your home thermometer will have as many features as this. The rain gauge is just a little cup, it's not nearly as nice as the ones at the dollar store. It can tell you temp & humidity, but the wind speed is not even close to being right. My son was excited to take it out on a very windy day, the tv said gusts up to 40 mph and this registered them as 6 mph. bummer. Average Rating:![]() |
