La Crosse Technology Projection Alarm Clock with Outdoor TemperatureReviewsdon't even bother, material is cheap and not worth it I would gone to the movies with what I spent on this thing and it would be more fun. We love this clock. I wish you could turn off the temperature reading and simply do the clock but overall, very happy. While you can't be too visually impaired to read this clock, the size of the projected display can, to some extent, be adjusted, though like everyone says it could be brighter - your bedroom has to be quite dark to see it well. I love watching the outdoor temperature progression through the night, it's nice having one clock that two people can easily read, and I like that the time is synchronized with the Denver atomic clock. I bought this clock for my wife for christmas, and it was a good choice. The projection to the ceiling is a nice feature, and is clear enough when the room is dark. It is a bit odd that you have to turn the clock face away from you to orient the projection to the readable position. Programming the local time can be a little tricky too, as the clock bases its time on a reading from the world clock. The thermometer is a nice perk also. The remote sensor works fine. I bought this clock in addition to another projection clock from Oregon Scientific so I could take the the more basic one on vacation with me. This one had the outside temperature in addition to the time. I did have a little issue getting it on daylight savings time, but after that it seemed to work very well. The temperature seemed to take a while to stabilize, and it does seem to measure to the high side, but all-in-all, it works extremely well. The projection size of the digits are a little smaller but more precise than the Oregon Scientific but what a great device that allows you to see the time and temperature without twisting and squinting. I took a fall a few years back and am in a wheelchair making this a near necessity, especially on vacation. I would recommend these clocks to everyone. Average Rating:![]() |

This atomic weather clock tells you the outside temperature when you wake in the morning, before you've even gotten out of bed! The atomic thermometer clock also displays the indoor temperature as well as relative humidity and hours, minutes and seconds on the large clear digital screen... |

La Crosse Technology WS-8117U-IT-AL Atomic Clock with Remote TemperatureReviewsIt's been just what I expected. I've had it for two months now and have no complaints. The item arrived very shortly! It's a great clock. Contemporary look, great functionality. I bought them for my home office and they suits to this purpose very well. Time, thermometers and moon phase are very accurate. I love this clock! For this price you can't get anything better. Highly recommended! I bought this as a gift for my parent's lake home. They absolutely love it. The information is always accurate, and the outdoor transponder has worked great. There have been no problems with this product. The moon phase is a little counter-intuitive, but once you get used to it, the unit is easy to interpret. We love this atomic clock. I bought it for my husband for his birthday in January. It was easy to hook up, etc. and seems to be very accurate. Very handy to have in the kitchen. Gave as a gift and was recently told it wont pick up the exterior temperature. I have tried new batteries and resetting it, but nothing. Nice look, but not working. Average Rating:![]() |

When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented brushed aluminum finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science... |

La Crosse Technology WS-7014CH-IT Wireless Weather StationReviewsThis is a newer version of a weather station that served me well for a dozen years. In fact, that older weather station still works, but the outdoor sender died. So, I thought I would order this model, and its sender would feed data to both the old indoor unit and this new indoor unit. Great theory, as the picture on Amazon has 433mhz clearly stamped on the front of the indoor unit. But that is incorrect. This unit comes with the 915mhz sender, as the text describing the unit clearly states. But rather than send it back, I kept it because it works so well and looks so good and is priced so low, as these things go. The old unit went into a drawer as I hate to throw away anything that still works. This item was too narrow in viewing for our choice. We really had to view closely to read and not be distracted by the frame. Of course, us old folks like to see the "big picture" on everything! This was my first product from LaCrosse Technology, and am completely satisfied. I'm a weather bug and have been for 50 years, and I watch what type of products I purchase and from whom. This item looks like the picture. However, my husband did not like it because he thought that the numbers were too small to read. (without glasses) This is a great little thermometer, barometer, clock, calendar, forecast machine. My only complaint is that it takes too long to update. Example: there are black clouds above my house and the icon still shows "sunny and clear", with the barometer arrow up, after about an hour, it will show the barometer dropping and clouds. Still love it though. Average Rating:![]() |

Weather Direct WD-3308U-MF-WAL Internet-Powered Wireless Weather Station by La Crosse TechnologyReviewsI should have read the reviews on the Model 3307 a very similar model and heeded them. But, thinking the 3308 was a debugged upgrade I made my second mistake and purchased it. It's one thing to spend ten dollars on a marginal item and quite another to spend a hundred. Like so many of the 3307s I got five days use out of mine before it too morphed into useless gadgetry and became high rent clutter. Average Rating:![]() |

Lacrosse Technology Wind Sensor - WS-2310-15ReviewsThe unit is fine, I was not aware that I needed a base station to use it, my fault though Working great. Hopefully it will last longer than the 1st one which quit after about 1 yr. I bought this to replace our old worn out wind speed sensor. We have had our weather machine for about 4 years now and the wind sensor started not recording. Since you can't get inside that easily to fix them we bought this replacement and figure it should last us another 4 years. Not too bad for a $45 investment. I searched all over the net to find one and thanks to Amazon I was able to find what I was looking for. Lacrosse and Ambient didn't show them on either of their websites. Thanks again Amazon for making my shopping easy and a pleasure. Wind sensor failed after 2 years on original WS-2308. It was a guess as to whether it was the sensor or the transmit unit. There is no apparent way to isolate the two. Lacrosse Tech. Co. was absolutely no help as their service gets a zero rating. However the replacement unit, the company ordered from, and Amazon fulfilled their commitment properly. This problem was fixed. It appears from discussion with others that the three main makers of home weather stations all have poor service, and products that eventually fail. This is what you get for the price point - weather stations that do not handle the weather very well! Original failed after about 3-4 years of use. The symptoms were no data received at the panel and no data logged in Heavy Weather or any other weather app. Although it was a gamble whether this was the problem or the main panel, I guessed that this component sees more action and weather than the panel and took a chnace that this may fix the problem. It did indeed fix the problem. The weather station is completely back to normal now. Unfortunately, I still do not know a way to definitively diagnose the failure in the future. (How to test this sensor) But I will be less reluctant to take a chance on this component. Average Rating:![]() |

LaCrosse 3-Day Audio Weather ForecasterReviewsI received my Weather Direct (LaCrosse) 3-day Audio Weather Forecaster as a Christmas gift. I was excited to receive it. We have had 3 power outages since then. Every time there is an outage, we have had to delete the device from our account on the unit and re-connect it. (This sometimes takes about 15 minutes....when it works! Then, it can take several hours to "update".) 1. We've contacted Customer Service (LaCrosse/Weather Direct) for our problems because we were not able to troubleshoot with the information available on their web site. The first time, they took nearly a week to respond. Their web site said, not verbatim, they had a backlog of contacts to make to other customers experiencing difficulties with their units they received for Christmas. (Gee, I think I know why.) 2. Customer Service has been contacted AGAIN. My unit has been down for nearly 3 weeks (I was not available to take the time needed to work on it the first week) and the "fix" they gave me did not work. I have contacted them twice since Monday (today is Thursday) and so far, no additional response. (Maybe it's because I have asked how to get a replacement unit.) 3. I agree with another reviewer that the unit's scroll is jerky. It is difficult to read from some angles (when I'm standing and it's on the counter). 4. I questioned the accuracy of the forecasts. They were sometimes not in line with what local meteorologists forecast. 5. I wish it had a "Indoor" temperature reading. 6. We purchased additional features for our unit. $9.95 gives us weather alerts when warnings/watches are in our area. It's a great feature & worth the money. Of course, we haven't had access to our unit for 3 weeks, so I feel a bit ripped off. 7. HOPEFULLY they'll get back to us soon. I will NOT recommend their unit to anyone else, nor do I plan to purchase one. The unit was neat when it worked, even though it had a couple of drawbacks (which, at the time I could overlook). This unit delivers what is promised: it shows outdoor temperature and weather information from the internet. But... 1. It does NOT have an indoor temperature reading. Maybe they were able to hit a $5 less price point, but I miss it. 2. The outdoor temperature sensor stopped working the first time it rained -- I had it in a sheltered location, but the unit is clearly nowhere near waterproof. 3. The scrolling display jerks along letter-by-letter, it is not a smooth crawl. It is tiring to read and is either too fast or too slow. It would have been pretty cool in 1998. 4. I don't know where on the internet it gets its forecasts, but it never seems very accurate. Today it is completely overcast with light snow, the unit says partly cloudy and nothing about precipitation. 5. Its outdoor reading (if not broken) can be seen on the internet at [...], but finding your own forecaster on the map is a tedious process. It's kind of small, and they didn't have a sports option when I wanted to program it. Put your money into a wall clock that doesn't have a forecaster, it's really not that great to have. Or just but a more expensive one with more features. The thing you use to connect to the internet makes this weird noise, like static all the time. All in all, it does what it's supposed to do. I have two of these in separate buildings, each using its own gateway. Setup is a little tricky (you have to be able to follow instructions!) but both came-up immediately and got on the Internet for their updates. You absolutely do need a router with an available RJ45/CAT5 connection for the Gateway, and if it feeds DHCP IP addresses you're golden--else you can download a gateway utility software program to assign a fixed IP address to get the gateway onto your local LAN. I like especially that the base station (weather display) is completely wireless i.e. you can move it around anywhere you'd like. And the sound quality is just fine--no trouble hearing the male or female (artificial) voices announcing the various forecasts. One complaint is that the backlight is dim, and worse than that it doesn't stay lit long enough to apprehend the 3-day forecast on the display. Also, it's easy to press the Alarm button and then the thing will later beep at whatever time the alarm is set to. If you don't use this feature, make sure to set the alarm time to some time during the day, so you aren't awakened in the dead of night from having accidentally enabled the alarm! A fun toy though--very cheap for what it does! Installed the device today. Provides 3 days forecasts for a location. Additional locations costs more. There are other optional feature like alert and all costs more. Display quality is very good. But Audio has lot of disturbance. The light is also not great and doesnt cover the entire display. Oregon Scientific's John Deere Wireless Long-Range Weather Forecaster with Barometric Pressure ReadoutReviewsThe unit works great, no problems. Except they didn't ship me what I ordered, what I received was the same weather station in silver not JOHN DEERE GREEN as the names says.I could of purcsased silver one any where.I did not contact Amazon about the problem. One company selling one company shipping. We received one of the Oregon Scientific weatherstations as a gift. It is something we need as we have outdoor animals in a barn about 200 feet from the house. The product description reflects up to a 300 foot transmission range with the remote, but unfortunately, the package claims only a 100 foot range. We have tried to contact Oregon Scientific, but have not yet received a reply. It is something we could use - but the 300 foot range is necessary. Average Rating:![]() |
