I bought three of these about two years ago. When I opened the box they were all three reading exactly the same temperature, and they have remained accurate since then wherever I have used them - indoors, outdoors, in refrigerators, etc. I've had not-so-good luck accuracy-wise with a lot of other thermometers, but these have been very dependable. I just ordered three more. I would have also ordered one of the 10 inch versions, but it doesn't seem to be available anymore.

This is an excellent buy. $2.00 and free shipping. It's accurate, water / weather proof and it doesn't need a battery

The mounting screw included with the thermometer was too large for the hole it was supposed to go through, requiring me to find a screw with a smaller head.

This purchase gave me an opportunity and great feeling that I did not have to go to the local store. 1.99 and free delivery. Not as small as I thought and gets the job done in the attics and Patio. Limit of three per order - not sure why I wanted to order more...lol.

This thermometer, for the price, is a good deal and get the job done. I have installed a this in my attic and they seem to be accurate for most part and easy to read.

I requested two days shipment, but after 10 days i am still waiting for them to ship it.I am not even sure they have it available in stock. They don't even sent any email with any explanation or estimation.

its pretty accurate. displays temp and humidity. I really like it. compared to other devices i already own, its pretty great. Just what I expected. The size is small so i can carry it anywhere and place it wherever I want.

Product shipped and received as promised. Setup was very easy, just install a AA battery and check to see if you are set to celsius or fahrenheit(there's a switch on the back). It immediately displayed temp which matched what my thermostat was reading. The humidity level was in the range we expected but having nothing to compare this reading to I can't give it five stars till I have verified it's accuracy. The unit seems well made and has a panel on the back which flips out to allow it to be free standing and has a magnet on the back if you want to stick it on a metallic surface. Product is 2 1/2"W x 3"H x 1"D which is a perfect size to put in a guitar case to monitor humidity levels.

I bought this device so I could monitor the RH in the room in which I store and play my violin. It does a satisfactory job, though there are times the little house icon -- totally ridiculous in my opinion -- misreads and shows it is either too dry or too humid when, in fact, by the RH percentage everything is fine. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.

I read all the instructions, and STILL can't get the outdoor sensor to work, no matter what channel I set both of them on. Don't waste your $10.

Internal / external temperature provide the needed information. There is a slight difference between the two temperatures (external sensor 0.8 degree higher). The external sensor range is limited when going thru an external wall. When placed within 1foot of the external wall I had no problem placing the display anywhere in the adjacent room. However when the sensor was 9 foot away (next fence post) the display would loose contact when the window blinds are dropped or if the display was not lined up with sensor thru the window.

I couldnt believe the cheap price. I think shipping was more than the unit. Keeps perfect temperature and the atomic clock is so cool. I have it next to bed so I always know the temp in the room, outside, and I know what time it is. Great product.

At $10 (the price on Amazon June 2010) this is well worth the price. I purchased this to replace an older Oregon Scientific indoor/outdoor unit that had operated for about eight years and then the receiver unit stopped receiving from the remotes. The previous unit was about $30 without the clock feature. Complaints about the freeze alarm are easily solved by changing channel. If the unit works for two or three years, I will be happy at this price. One negative is the location of the alarm button on the front. I tend to depress it when clearing the high/low memory and the alarm is set unintentionally. Another negative that is not critical for most people is the inability to use the older Oregon Scientific remotes with the new receiver. But for $20 you can get two complete units so you have two remotes and a spare receiver.

It's on sale because it isn't very good and it's not accurate (compared to more expensive units), but for me that's OK because it's not that serious. For the price and what it does, it's hard to complain. So it's off 2 or 3 degrees........I just want a general idea of what to expect when I go outside - - more than likely it's going to be hot in the summer. So what if it's off. It's $11.00 Where else can you find a wireless outdoor thermometer at this price? I couldn't even find a sensor at this price. For me it works and I like it.

Accurate and easy to read. I use this for automotive AC repairs. Hang one side out the window and stick the unit in the AC Vent, works great.

The Vision Pro Sensor we had donated for our stateside office (for a mission to Haiti ... [...]) works great and this has helped us better balance the temperature by putting this where we most need the temp. moderated. A note, unfortuately, the thermostat will not balance between this sensor or the one in the main unit, you have to pick one. However, I believe it will balance between 2 of these units.

One might assume a a top-of-the-line thermostat, like the Honeywell 8000 series (with fancy touch screens and extensive programming options), would come equipped for a WIRELESS remote sensor. After all, you can get a general purpose (ie, not for a thermostat) wireless sensor for about ten bucks. Unfortunately this sensor must be hard-wired in place. Ugh. BTW - If you're willing to run the wire to install it, note that the wire itself isn't included. The ability to have a remote sensor was a big selling point for 8000 series thermostat; the effort required to install it, and inability to relocate it easily after installation is a big unexpected negative.

After about a month of so of use things seem to be working fine and there has been no problems. It was easy to install.

Bill Henry is correct! This is not the right picture but the description is correct and is exactly what I needed. I think the picture is of the "junction box" that goes with the C7189U if you want to have 4 or 8 remote temperature sensors to use temperature averaging throughtout your house. The RTS is small as it should be, 1 1/2" wide, 2 1/4" tall and 3/4" deep, almost invisible on a white wall. It works great and solved my problem without having to move the thermostat to where I installed the RTS. This was the 2nd time I ordered from Plumbing Planet and again they were great. When I ordered it, the "quantity in stock" said "1" which worried me a little. But I ordered it late Friday afternoon and it was at my front door the following Tuesday using UPS Standard.

1. The image you show for the C7189U1005 is not correct. Plumbing Planet where I purchused unit has informed you of my concerns. I purchesed two units on e-bay and they have the image you show and on the inside, there is a label showing unit is a C718U1005, which is required for use with HONEYWELL TH8500 Series Thermostat. This unit is well constructed and is designed to fit an AC standard outlet; however, the unit I received when ordering from Plumbing is a Honeywell C718U1005 as shown on Honeywell web page. This unit is not equal to the two units I received from ebay. 2. Plumbing Plant has been great and were willing to have unit returned. 3. Honeywell Customer Care told me that they were not aware of any change in their unit. 4. The unit received, C7189U1005 is very fragile, very small, has a cover which is not secure on base, is not designed to fit over an AC standard outlet, and mounts on wall with screws and plastic inserts. 5. Users manual is confusing. English pages do not go in sequence. Does not specify that remote sensors have to be installed as 1, 4, 9, etc. This cause me and the air conditioning technician much wasted time trouble shooting since I was trying to install 2 sensors. Honeywell Customer Care did clear up the problem. The manual does show diagrams as to how the units can be wired but does not specify that the installation must be as shown.

I ordered this Big Digit Thermometer for my husband as part of his Christmas Present. He loved it. It is so nice that you can check the temperature from across the room with the Big Digiits. Good price and good product.

I'm sure the thing works but it's hard to read the readings in the dark.

This unit replaced an older Radio Shack unit. It works as promised. I especially like the large digital display.

Very nice thermometer with large digital numbers that makes it easy to read. I prefer the wire type that runs through the wall for outside temp reading.

this is an old-style unit with a probe instead of a wireless transmitter. i've found the wireless units to be erratic. this one is working fine. i especially appreciate the large numbers (1" high) which greatly aid visibility. most competitive units have smaller numbers.

Bought this for my 83 year old Mom. She was struggling to see the temperature on the thermostat using a magnifying glass. This is much easier. Only one button! (I did not show here the other buttons under the panel... she only wanted indoor and outdoor temp). Pleasant voice. Nice product.

I purchased this item as a gift for my Uncle who is blind. He absolutely loves it! There is a setting to say the time and temp every hour if you so chose that - and he thinks its perfect!

Dad broke his had bought for him and my mom several years ago,,,,mom passed away. He mentioned and at the last moment I found and ordered. It came and it was his Christmas Present from my youngest son. He went home and installed and loves it. (:

This is a great thermometer with an easily readable display. The readings are higher in direct sunlight, so it should be used in a shaded area. I have used it in extreme heat outdoors (> 50°C) and it works well.

I bought 2 of these and put them on the window out of the sun. they both read the same and both were atleast 5 degrees off.

My husband and I love this thermometer.One of the kids had given us one a number of years ago and somehow the knob broke off and it stopped working. When we finally found another one we knew we had to have it. They are easy to put up and easy to read.They do last a long time.Thanks

Did you ever want to know the outside temp before you got dressed in the morning? This is your answer. Mine was so admired by my next door neighbor that I bought one for her as a birthday present.

This thermometer is much too sensitive. When the sun shines on it the temperature increases 20 degrees. If you keep it out of the sun it would probably work fine.

I have purchased in the past from Amazon other outdoor weather thermometer(s) which i use and like as well but when i saw this one ...just cling onto your window..i thought i'd buy this one and it really works...it's easy to view outside my window goodsize numbers to see and it has not fallen off, even in the rain and winds it stays. What's nice i can remove and relocate if i want to. I think next time i will purchase 2 more of these..they're affordable! Thank you Amazon.com for bringing these workable items to us.

I live in the mountains in California and am always concerned with the icy roads that we get during the winter. I got tired of hitting black ice all of the time and saw this product. It gives me a better idea of what may lie ahead on the road. It was VERY easy to install and gave my older Jeep Wrangler an edge over most cars on the road. I would recommend it to all my friends. Also, the battery life is outstanding.

Nice little unit. Works as described. Love the option to plug in to cigarette lighter for back light. Would recommend it for when temps are borderline freezing and you are worried about black ice. Would purchase again.

good item worth the price only 2 problems for me. First for the outside thermometer its kind of hard to find a place to put it in without it being affected either by the heat of engine or direct sunlight or the heat of transmission or the wind when vehicle is in motion and second you can only uses the light when you connect it to the lighter its not either battery or lighter plug which for me makes my inside of the car look cluttery with all the wires that i have

Indoor/Outdoor Thermometers are helpful during the winter to let you know how much clothing you need to put on. This one will do the job, too. It is constructed a little cheap looking but does the job. Had an old model (1965) that still works made from wood. It looks a lot nicer. Maybe they can color the plastic in a wood color? That would be nice and prettier too!

The gauge arrived promptly. The gauge is easy to install and catches the rain. Only thing is that the numbers could be better displayed on the outside rather than reversed and inside.

I replaced one very similar to this that I had used for 25 years. This has a magnifying quality that makes it easy to read from inside the house. Very accurate.

Easy to read scale. funnel is made from thick clear plastic. Is resistannt to freezing. Will see in the long run if the UV sunlight will affect its condition!

The scale to measure amount of rainfall shows each 1/2 inch. BUT the scale in between each 1/2 inch IS NOT calibrated to each 1/10 of an inch as all other English measure gauges are. There are only 3 lines instead of the 4 there should be to measure tenths between 1/2 inches. That means each line represents 0.125 inches. I bought and put up 2 of these. At $2.99 seemed like a good deal on a simple accurate rain gauge. At first rain I figured out the incorrect scale. Not properly calibrated, it's worth $0.

So far so good. Construction is plastic and does not impart confidence of long-term durability by any means. However, it does what it is supposed to do, and unlike some other reviewers I had no issues with the device failing. Still ticking as I write this review. Anyway, I doubt it will last 10 years, but for the money it is a bargain. The display is easy to read and the extra sensor has a decent length to it. I bought a comparable model from Oregon Scientific 2 years ago (still working) for $10 more than this one cost me, and I would have preferred to buy that one again but Amazon no longer carries it. This was an acceptable alternative.

I was looking to buy a digital thermometer for my toddler's room, I did a lot of research and found the features of this thermometer matched my criteria. Features: - Independent indoor and outdoor sensor. - Indoor Humidity sensor - Clock. So far I have changed the battery only once, it lasts a long time (given you use a brand name alkaline), I would buy this again if I needed another thermometer for other room. Highly recommend it!

This unit is junk. Numbers are not all working, humidity always says 22 or 23 no matter what. Even the packaging sucked. I am returning this now. Find another one.

This is the 2nd one i've owned-my puppy chewed the 1st one that worked great-i had it for 2 years. This one i had only a few hours and it stopped working. Sent back to amazon for a full refund-i bought a different brand.
