La Crosse Technology WS-7014CH-IT Wireless Weather StationReviewsThis is a newer version of a weather station that served me well for a dozen years. In fact, that older weather station still works, but the outdoor sender died. So, I thought I would order this model, and its sender would feed data to both the old indoor unit and this new indoor unit. Great theory, as the picture on Amazon has 433mhz clearly stamped on the front of the indoor unit. But that is incorrect. This unit comes with the 915mhz sender, as the text describing the unit clearly states. But rather than send it back, I kept it because it works so well and looks so good and is priced so low, as these things go. The old unit went into a drawer as I hate to throw away anything that still works. This item was too narrow in viewing for our choice. We really had to view closely to read and not be distracted by the frame. Of course, us old folks like to see the "big picture" on everything! This was my first product from LaCrosse Technology, and am completely satisfied. I'm a weather bug and have been for 50 years, and I watch what type of products I purchase and from whom. This item looks like the picture. However, my husband did not like it because he thought that the numbers were too small to read. (without glasses) This is a great little thermometer, barometer, clock, calendar, forecast machine. My only complaint is that it takes too long to update. Example: there are black clouds above my house and the icon still shows "sunny and clear", with the barometer arrow up, after about an hour, it will show the barometer dropping and clouds. Still love it though. Average Rating:![]() |

La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WS-9077TWC Wireless Weather Forecast StationReviewsThis little unit is modestly priced, but packs a lot of features useful to those interested in the weather. Both the base unit and the included outdoor sending unit are well-constructed. The range for the outdoor sending unit is excellent, much better than the weather station I had before. The unit picked up and, so far, has retained a strong connection to the atomic clock, something my old unit could not do though placed in exactly the same location uin the kitchen. Set up is easy if you follow the instructions. I have only two quibbles. Both the unit and display are smaller than I would like; but this might be a positive for you if you plan to have the unit sitting on a smaller desk or table. Second, so far the "forecaster" may not be as accurate as the one in my last unit. I am thinking that my old unit had an altitude "offset" feature. I don't think this one does. Price and shipping speed are excellent. I ordered this weather station. I got it up and running with it's remote sensor. Not a big deal. The temps on the base station and the receiver that came with the unit were very close...and it was easy to PROGRAM. Here's the RUB...the Amazon Site has an ERROR. If you want a REMOTE SENSOR TO WORK WITH THIS ONE...do NOT TRUST AMAZON. You need to TX29U-IT Sensor. LaCrosse says that this is the NUMBER ONE COMPLAINT with this unit...that Amazon has them LINKED. I am trying to get Amazon to return the incorrect sensor and replace it with the correct one. I doubt that will be a problem. However, for folks in the future to AVOID THIS HASSLE...you need to do some homework. Go to the LaCrosse Technology Website and do a SEARCH for the base or weather station that you want. When you find it, you will find in the SPECS the correct Remote Sensor. Hope this helps someoneelse avoid my issues and the hassle. This is the second unit I've had. Each one has lasted about 15 months and then the outdoor temp is no longer read. Replaced batteries, reset as instructed and still no out door reading. Same thing both times. Done with this product. This product is easy to use. I love being able to know the exact temp inside and out! There is no weather station near me so this little device is great. If you buy one be sure to locate the remote sensor where it will be shaded all year long and not too close to asphalt or concrete because you could get very erroneous readings, in the summer especially. I don't believe these issues are covered in the instructions. There are a couple of things I'd like to see different, but for the price it's great and it does what it's supposed to do. However, two mounting holes would be nice so it would stay straight when you hang it. Average Rating:![]() |

Oregon Scientific RMR382A-BK Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Self-Setting Atomic Clock, BlackReviewsOnce it works, this is quite an attractive and convenient thermometer and it seems to give an accurate outdoor reading. That's on the plus side. On the negative side are these: 1) The atomic clock -- do we really need that? -- has never worked, at least not on mine. It picks up a signal, but not the right time. 2) The temperature alarm is a great idea maybe if you're a citrus grower and want to know when the temperature dips below freezing, but a stupid idea for the rest of us. Good luck with figuring out how to deactivate it. (Other reviewers have sufficiently chronicled their travails with this one.) 3) The instruction booklet specifies the use of UM03 and UM04 batteries. Don't be an idiot and chase all over town trying to find batteries with that name; you won't find them. Just use standard AA and AAA alkaline or lithium batteries. 4) The remote sensor won't give an accurate temperature if it is attached to the house, so you are challenged with finding a location away from the house that will be sheltered from the sun and rain as well as in line with the receiver. 5) Setting up the device requires a lot of resetting to make it work. Where are those reset buttons? They are conveniently located pinholes inside the battery cases. Inspired design! 6) Also, the time zone selector is located inside the unit's battery case, just so you will go nuts trying to find it. Even if reliably functioning, this is not a well-designed product and is way too complicated for most people's use. Setting it up is and learning how to use it is frustrating and unnecessarily difficult. The instructions require what seems like hours of study. Buyers should beware that this is anything but a put-the-batteries-in-and-it-goes product. Oregon Scientific really needs to work on this one. It took me awhile to get the positioning right on the outdoor transmitter, I had to keep moving it and resetting it until I just about gave up and THEN it started working. It was cheap and now works fine but it would've been a hassle to send back had it not decided to work. This works well and the clock picks up the signal quickly. The only negative is it can't be hung on the wall. I purchased this RM382A to replace an earlier model Oregon remote thermometer that had failed after 5+ years. This RM382A was a good device, while it lasted. It operated flawlessly for 10 months. Now the remote sensor does not register. The sensor, with a new lithium AA blinks the indicator LED, but the display will not register an outside temperature. This is true even when the sensor is within 5' of the RM382A. The sensor, while outside, was under roof, and out of direct weather. I have no way of telling if the sensor failed, or the main unit failed. I'm highly disappointed with Oregon. This clock is good. But it was a little difficult to get the right time and temperature. Average Rating:![]() |

Taylor Weather Station With Atomic ClockReviewsSeller took way to long to ship. The wireless outdoor thermometer only transmits less than 10 feet, the bases display is very dim and hard to read, and the backlight button is so stiff you have to hold the unit with one hand and then push the button. This is just another poorly designed, Chinese piece of junk. Average Rating:![]() |

Digiview RC61ELW Atomic Travel ClockReviewsI cannot say enough good things about the clock. I can see it just fine in the dark. It syncs up to the Atomic clock broadcast and is exactly in sync with another atomic clock that I have. The temperature display is right on the mark. I let my battery go bad after about 3 years, and the battery leaked in the unit. I carefully cleaned the clock and it worked perfect again when I replace the battery. It works well as an alarm clock. Also, the indiglo does not light unless you press a button. However, you can only see the time if you hold the clock and tilt it at various angles. I don't know if this is a battery problem, or a design defect. The snooze delay is adjustable. There has to be something better. This clock would not stay on the entered time zone. I repeatedly followed the directions and every two weeks the time would again be 2 hours off. I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before buying this clock. Please don't make the same mistake I did. First, there is NO manual clock setting on this clock. Yes, you can adjust the time yourself, but the atomic clock will override your setting in the middle of the night. There is nothing you can do to shut the atomic setting off. Second, an accurate atomic setting would be fine if it actually kept time and was accurate, but it is not. After my clock set itself to Eastern time one night, the next night it jumped ahead 8 full hours. It made no sense to me because it was still set for Eastern time. I tried resetting it multiple times, but the same thing kept happening. Third (like you really need a third for a clock that doesn't work), it only has the Continental United States time zones. So even if the clock kept accurate time in the States, you wouldn't be able to use it elsewhere. I moved to the Canadian border of Maine where the time zone is Atlantic and that made the clock go even more haywire. Please save your money. I hate that I wasted mine. I have had several atomic clocks and this is the cheapest and best. Plus: - always syncs really fast, no matter where in the US I was - good readability - shows the time the alarm is set to without having to press a button - that is a big PLUS for me - has + and - keys, so you can easily set the times - good to read - battery lasts forever - shows temperature as an added plus - folds up and is very protected Minus: - not so easy to operate Average Rating:![]() |

Weather Station with Wireless Outdoor Thermometer (31215)ReviewsHey, for $18.00 delivered to your door you can't beat it, so cheap I bought two. It's been WAY more reliable than the $55.00 La Crosse it replaced! Just over a year and still running on the original batteries! Easy set-up too, I had it installed and working in 20 minutes. Keep having to reset the outside channel and it's not worth the hassle. Wouldn't buy another one if it was only a $1. Picked this up as an inexpensive replacement for a wall unit that died of old age. It was a bit smaller than I expected (should have read the specs more carefully). I set the outdoor sensor next to the indoor unit for about an hour. The outside unit reported about two degrees higher. As long as that remains consistent, it's easy enough to correct. There's also a min/max history so you can see temperature range over a given time. The unit has a little stand for vertical mounting and this is probably a better way to use it. It could easily go on a desk or a nightstand. Be aware that you must manually set the time. This does not pick up broadcast time. I would have given this product a five, except the first day I placed the remote monitor in the garage and the base unit in the Kitchen, it stoped sending the garage temp. Clicked the channel button a couple of times and it started again to transmit. Has worked perfect ever sence. Found a simular unit at Radio Shack, but cost almost twice as much. Bob T. Even though this item is much easier to set and replace batteries, than other units we have had, the outside reading is NOT correct. Tested it with 3 other thermometers and it was off by 3 to 4 degrees. The inside is accurate. I would send it back but my husband loves the inside unit and just subtracts 3 degrees from the outside reading. Go figure! Average Rating:![]() |
