I read all the instructions, and STILL can't get the outdoor sensor to work, no matter what channel I set both of them on. Don't waste your $10.

Internal / external temperature provide the needed information. There is a slight difference between the two temperatures (external sensor 0.8 degree higher). The external sensor range is limited when going thru an external wall. When placed within 1foot of the external wall I had no problem placing the display anywhere in the adjacent room. However when the sensor was 9 foot away (next fence post) the display would loose contact when the window blinds are dropped or if the display was not lined up with sensor thru the window.

I couldnt believe the cheap price. I think shipping was more than the unit. Keeps perfect temperature and the atomic clock is so cool. I have it next to bed so I always know the temp in the room, outside, and I know what time it is. Great product.

At $10 (the price on Amazon June 2010) this is well worth the price. I purchased this to replace an older Oregon Scientific indoor/outdoor unit that had operated for about eight years and then the receiver unit stopped receiving from the remotes. The previous unit was about $30 without the clock feature. Complaints about the freeze alarm are easily solved by changing channel. If the unit works for two or three years, I will be happy at this price. One negative is the location of the alarm button on the front. I tend to depress it when clearing the high/low memory and the alarm is set unintentionally. Another negative that is not critical for most people is the inability to use the older Oregon Scientific remotes with the new receiver. But for $20 you can get two complete units so you have two remotes and a spare receiver.

It's on sale because it isn't very good and it's not accurate (compared to more expensive units), but for me that's OK because it's not that serious. For the price and what it does, it's hard to complain. So it's off 2 or 3 degrees........I just want a general idea of what to expect when I go outside - - more than likely it's going to be hot in the summer. So what if it's off. It's $11.00 Where else can you find a wireless outdoor thermometer at this price? I couldn't even find a sensor at this price. For me it works and I like it.

It works just as it is advertised. Easy to set up. Very happy with it. It would be great if they had a sensor that ran up to say 200 or 225 degrees so I could put it in my sauna but oh well.

Overall decent product and displays. Loved the unit for about three months, then the sensor stopped transmitting. Changed batteries, reset, changed batteries again. No luck except when sensor is within 6 inches of base. Poor sensor makes this worthless.

I bought this extra sensor with a BAR388HA unit. The BAR388HA is in the central part of the house on the first floor, one THGR122NX is on the front patio and one is in the attic of a two floor house. No problems with either of the sensors communicating with the BAR388HA unit.

The Oregon Scientific THGR122NX sensor worked great right out of the box. I have come to expect quality performance from Oregon Scientific. I have two remote sensors; one on our back porch and one near our deep well pump and filters to monitor for freezing temperatures at our Central Florida home...Yes, Florida. The OS sensors have never failed to perform. I highly recommend Oregon Scientific.

This was supposed to be a direct replacement for the "THGR968" sensor I purchased 2 (one for backup) and to get free shipping. I got neither paid for full shipping and got 2 Items that are useless. Got Screwed this time! Armand.

After reading many reviews and based on my budget i ended up getting the Oregon Scientific BAR208HGA. Here are my thoughts on the device. PROS: - Feels sturdy. - Form factor is good. - Accurate readings comparing the outdoor sensor with the indoor sensor. - Backlight is bright and clear. ( orange color ). - Outdoor sensor measures both Temp & Humidity. - Outdoor sensor has external display. - 24 hour log. CONS: - Difficult to read unit from a few feet away. I feel i'm always tilting my head to be able to get a reading. - Must use a very small philips screwdriver to install batteries on the outdoor sensor. - No batteries included. - At least for me, for 3 weeks now i have not been able to get a signal to the Atomic Clock. Had to set it manually. - 24 hour log clears after 24 hours. No history. Couple things that i can't understand is regarding the forecast. Since i'm not getting the atomic clock reading, i'm not quite sure what forecast it's giving me. The moon phases could be tracked down by the clock settings, but the forecast i'm not sure where that is coming from. So i can't tell you if it's accurate or not. Not sure how long the outdoor sensor will last. It doesn't seem all that weatherproof. But we'll see with time. I got the Silver version. The look is nice. The product overall is great. But if it weren't for the CONS above, i'd give it 4 stars. But i just can't. For the price, i think it's worth it. Like i mentioned before, i did alot of searching and reading before i decided on this one. From all the options out there, i think this is one of the better products out there. Feel free to comment and ask me any questions you may have. -Rob

We are happy with the service and will be happy with the station as soon as we get it set right

This is a wonderful product. Reception to the base was quick and constant. Numbers are easy to read and the backlight is perfect. I wish it could be hung on a wall, but that is only a minor thing. This is the best remote weather station I have ever owned.

The station is great. We especially like the humidity readings along with indoor and outdoor temperatures. We have previous experience with Oregon Scientific products and have enjoyed having them. It is a very reliable company.

I had 2 of the older versions of this unit, the RMR203HGA and after 2 exchanges, it still would not run for more than 7 days on a set of batteries. I just called OS for a third exchange, and they are sending me this unit(BAR208S). We'll see if this one lasts any longer. Good features, we'll see.

We ordered one of these weather stations so we could have a general idea of the current and general weather outlook when staying at our condo in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (weather forecasts there in Spanish aren't very helpful to us!). This unit does receive atomic clock signals from Boulder, Colorado, and the internal barometer is able to predict the likelihood of precipitation in the next 12-24 hours. We have been very satisfied with this weather station, and ordered another for our home in the US, where we use the outdoor transmitter as well, and everything works as it should and is easy to understand. And--what we didn't know until very recently (by accident)--this thing even has an alarm clock you can set. Very useful in our daily lives :)

It is working fine now but it was frustrating to set up. I had problems with the remote sensor and had to try three different batteries before the "low battery" icon went off and the indoor sensor would read the remote. The one time I tried to use the memory, the unit froze and I had to reset it by taking the batteries out and putting them back in. However, I think that once you get it working and leave it alone, it works fine and provides a lot of useful information.

everything works well, but it does not have a light so how can I read it when it is dark? I would recommend this for anyone that wants to know the temp in, out and the humidity!

I've used Oregon Scientific and other brands of wireless thermometers since they became available to the public, and this particular model is an Edsel that should be recalled. The design of the battery cover on the remote thermometer can quickly render the product useless the first time you have to replace the batteries (and it does eat up batteries). The two bottom screws on the cover are tiny, very fragile and recessed much further than previous models. Most people don't have the necessary screw driver to begin with, and even then it is easy to strip the head of the screws, making the cover impossible to remove. I have three of the remote thermometers, by the way, and their range does not meet advertised claims. Accuracy can also be a real issue if you are relying on it to monitor a water heater closet, plant nursery or, God forbid, a baby nursery. Sometimes they just stop working for an hour at a time for no apparent reason. The receiver is little better. It requires frequent resetting, goes through batteries too quickly, the Atomic Clock is iffy, etc., etc., etc. I bought this model to replace a far cheaper, 10-year-old Oregon Scientific thermometer that once kept working while lying in flood waters for two days. The signal on this latest model can be interrupted by a napping lizard (sic). Wish I could recommend another brand but haven't had a chance to shop around because I am still trying to at least get a fraction of my money's worth on this grossly overpriced unit.

I bought this weather station to replace an older unit thta seemed to be failing. It arrived quicker than I was told and worked just fine out of the box.It uses the same outdoor sensor as the older unit, so I had outdoor temperature and humidity as soon as the batteries were installed. It acquired WWV quite rapidly. Of course the older unit now works much better, apparently sensing competition. Each unit, however, has its own view of the barometric pressure. Neither quite matches the Weather Service numbers. However, this is no big deal. I called the Oregon Scientific Technical Support number and was told neither unit was adjustable. But, the numbers seemed to be within the expected margin of accuracy. Whatever . . The weather forecast icon is a bit of a joke. Quite often, the icon represents quite a different view of the actual weather seen out of my window! Again, whatever . . I do wish it had a back light so I can see it in darker times. Otherwise, it's good enough for the price.

My 92-year-old mother gave me an atomic projection clock for my birthday, and when her 93rd birthday rolled around, I gave her one, and she loves hers as much as I do! It projects very legible clock numbers onto the ceiling. Waking up to check the time and being able to just look up makes it much easier to fall asleep, versus having to wake up enough to roll over and focus on a traditional clock. It's fantastic! I recommend it for everybody who seeks a good night's sleep, even the near-sighted, because the numbers are large enough to read from the bed.

I love this clock! It projects the time on the ceiling in red. It is very subtle so it does not interfere with sleeping for those of us who like it dark. The only negative is, for it to continuously project, it has to be plugged into the wall. It also operates on batteries, but if you're using batteries, you have to punch a button to make it project the time on the ceiling.

I received this clock from my son a number of years ago, and just love it. The alarm isn't blaring, you can view the time in the middle of the night as it is projected onto the ceiling, there is a snooze button, it sets itself when there is a time change (daylight savings). It's wonderful. I recently ordered a second clock for another bedroom. It was almost the same as the first, but now it tells you the temperature in the room, as well. I really don't care about the temp. in the room, but that's okay. What isn't okay is that there were no instructions on how to set the alarm and the 2nd clock's alarm is set differently than my other clock, though they are both Oregon Scientific clocks. I tried for two hours to figure it out, tried again the next night, and finally succeeded last night (though am not sure how I did it). It would be WONDERFUL if instructions would accompany this clock. C.M. Bethesda, Maryland

I purchased 2 of these clocks as back-ups to the ones we already have against the day they fail and we then find they are a discontinued item. My lady and I love not having to fully wake up to see what time it is. These are fobust, accurate and reliable clocks that suit our lifestyle and are technology that is actually convenient.

This is very compact. Much smaller than I expected. The projection is small on the ceiling also. Not bad but not great either. From reading about it I thought there was a radio also but it's just a clock unless the radio is well hidden in the compact controls.

Housed in high-tech blue plastic, this alarm clock is far more sophisticated than its cute appearance may lead one to believe. Whether you check on the time by consulting the clock's LCD screen or by looking at a large red-light projection of the time beamed onto a wall or ceiling, you'll know it's accurate...
